Fitting Mechanism And Techniques

Before starting installation of the product, it’s essential that we carry out an inspection of the substrate in order to check that it’s in good condition and will not cause any problems. The surface must be free from moisture and damp, without any fissures or cracks and must be firm. If defects are present then they have to be fixed beforehand. Once everything has been repaired and restored to the required condition, any traces of dust or grease must be removed to avoid any disruption to the installation process.

THE INSTALLATION PROCESS CONSISTS OF 6 STEPS

1.Sealer
2.Elastic + Mesh + Elastic
3.Special Fix
4.Base
5.Porcelanic Microcement: Classic, Concrete, Transit, Urban or any other
6.Protection: Primer + Lacquer

Sealer

Sealer C (concentrate primer): Ready to use hardener and sealing surface.

Improves adhesion on smooth concrete, mortar, tiles, porcelain, wood, paints and plaster gypsum. Apply on all porous substrates to regulate the level of absorption and to avoid dehydration.
Before applying, make sure the substrate is clean, firm and that any pores are opened.

Sealer P

Sealer P (ready to use sticky primer): It is a sealer to promote the workability. It can also be used on slippery substrates such as tiles, glass, aluminum, wood and steel.
Before applying, make sure the substrate is clean and firm. Apply a thick coat with a roller and let it dry for about 1 hour.

Elastic

Elastic Cement mortar bi-component, very flexible and waterproof.
Apply two layers, the first one with a roller and the second one with a trowel. For floors, it’s recommended to put fibre mesh between both coats. Apply this product on the substrate to prevent damps, leaks and fissures to the microcement.

Special fix

Special fix is suitable to repair irregular substrate such as filling cracks, holes and joints. It can also be used for tiling large pieces placed indoors or outdoors which makes it very flexible and excellent bounding with no cracks.

Base

Base is mainly used on floors. It is suitable for surfaces such as concrete, cement, granite, tiles, natural stones and wood.
Apply at least two layers on the ground with a trowel. Add 20-25% of water for each kilogram of powder. Let it dry for about 6 hours. To apply the second coat, add the pigment to the water and mix it, then mix it with the powder for 2-3 minutes. Let it set for 10 minutes then stir for 2 minutes until a uniform mixture is formed.
Before starting to apply the first coat of Base, it is important to place TAPE in the areas required. Then remove it and put it again on each coat of Base. After applying the first coat of Base, sand by hand any excess of the product with sanding paper (60-80 grit). Do the same with the second coat.
The drying time between coats of Base depend on the environmental conditions and the thickness of the coat, in ventilated areas it should be approximately 3-4 hours per coat.

Classic

Classic is an extremely thin coat which is Eco Porcelanic Micro cementwith high adhesion, very resistant, flexible, high resistance to abrasion and does not contain any toxic components. It is suitable for residential, industrial and hospitality areas.
Add 27-32% of water for each kilogram of powder. Mix the water and the pigment and then mix with the powder for 2-3 minutes. Let it set for 10 minutes then stir for 2 minutes until a uniform mixture is formed. After, apply with a trowel once it’s dry. Then, sand it very softly with sanding paper (220-240 grit). When you finish, there can be some marks or look plain depending on the trowel and the applicator hands. Apply two more coats. Let it dry between coats.
We must be extremely clean and neat with the tools, do not re-use the buckets, and must use all drying timings needed.
Protection

Primer

Primer is suitable and necessary to prevent aggression produced by Lacquer.Apply 1-2 coats with a sponge float, spray gun or a trowel (careful not to leave puddles). Ensure that it is well distributed throughout the surface. Let it dry 6 hours between coats.
It must be perfectly dry before applying the Lacquer.

Lacquer

Lacquer is a Water base lacquer bi-component product, which protects interior and exterior walls, floors, baths, and showers. It is high resistant to the abrasion and it’s also waterproof.
Make sure the Primer is completely dry before applying the Lacquer. Apply 2 coats of Lacquer. The first coat must be thin; the second one can be a little thicker. Let it dry 6-8hours between coats. Make sure the first coat is dry before applying the next one. It can be applied with a roller (with shorter hair), spray gun or a trowel (careful not to leave puddles).
Once it’s applied, it can be walkable within the next 24-48 hours, and the maximum hardness is achieved after two weeks.

Pigment

Any pigment is suitable for indoor and outdoor areas. it’s also stable to ultraviolet rays and can be applied to facades, swimming pools and terraces.
Each bottle of pigment has its own weight for each bucket of Microcement. A last coat of Base must be placed and then you are able to add any of our coats, out of Classic, Concrete, Transit or Urban. Measure the pigment grams to keep the same colour in all the coats of PorcelanicMicrocement.
It should be ready to use in paste and not diluted with water. Also make sure to shake the bottle intensely before using it.
How to mix the pigment
Each bottle of pigment is designed for each bucket of PorcelanicMicrocement. If you are not going to use the whole bucket, withdraw the number of kilos that you going to use. Each pigment has its own weight, so divide the pigment weight between the bucket weights of the PorcelanicMicrocement, so you will get the grams of pigment for each kilogram of the PorcelanicMicrocement, and then multiply for the kilograms of PorcelanicMicrocement withdrawn.

NOTES
Before applying any product, make sure the substrate is clean, firm and completely dry. Open time is around 1 hour.
It is very important to let dry all coats before applying the next one.
Drying times of any product depends on environmental conditions and thickness of the coat.
